Futurama : Back to the Future

If you like cartoon shows like Family Guy or South Park then you might find this show funny too .The show Futurama is listed number 3 on a website for best cartoon shows (CorbettCory,imdb.com,09/07/11). The show is about Phillip Fry is a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy whose life is going nowhere (Ronos,imdb.com,n.d) .When he accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999, he wakes up 1,000 years in the future and has a chance to make a fresh start (Ronos,imdb.com,n.d). I myself watch it and I find it to be funnier that South Park . It’s not as gruesome as South Park but it’s funny no less. What makes this show so interesting is it’s in the future . We all have those days when we wish were in the future. So watch this show and see what its like .

The Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers is undoubtedly one of the best movies out there to watch as of now. I personally went out with my friends to watch it the day of the premier and there was nothing to regret. The first thing you noticed is the amount of people lining up to watch the movie. It was even predicted that die-hard Marvel fans are expected to watch the movie at least two more times. (Pat Collins , 2012 , n.d.) Throughout the movie was of course action packed scenes between the main heroes and the villain, as well as a handful of comedic scenes. Box office records even show that the movie reached $1 billion within 19 days, as fast as “Avatar” and the last movie of the “Harry Potter” series. (Ryan J. Downey , 5/14/2012 ‘, n.d.) If you have watched the movie, what is your personal opinion of it, and if it now, do you plan to?

Coachella: Tupac Shakur Hologram

Recently, during Coachella, there was a performance by Dr.Dre and Snoop Dogg. They brought out many artists such as Eminem, and 50 Cent, but no guest caught anyone’s eye like Tupac Shakur did. Tupac Shakur you say? Yes! Dr Dre says that Tupac Shakur was brought back to life by James Cameron's visual production house Digital Domain, and two hologram-imaging companies, AV Concepts and the U.K.-based Musion Systems. This legendary artist died in 1996 but was brought back for one performance and he sang 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted from his album All Eyez on Me which was 9x platinum and was released in 1996 (1996-2012 CD Universe p. n. d). He also performed Hail Mary from his album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory which was 4x platinum and also released in 1996 (1996-2012 CD Universe p. n. d). This album was released after he was shot and killed.
As soon as I heard the news of his performance I had to check it out and once I did I was astounded! I had never seen him perform because I was born after his death but this was just amazing! I was thinking about all the artists today and compared them to him and then I realized there was no comparison. Ever since this performance, there have been rumors that maybe next year there might be a Biggie Smalls hologram which I believe is a great idea! In a video with Dr Dre in 2012 a week after performing at Coachella, he said that this Tupac Shakur hologram was strictly for Coachella but he did not rule out the possibility of a tour. There have also been rumors that next year, possibly a Biggie Smalls hologram might be introduced and that might go on tour.

Music Travels

In today’s modern world, music travels fast and goes viral quick. Let’s take for example the music video ‘Friday’ by Rebecca Black. As much as it’s not considered ‘true’ music, it went viral throughout cyberspace within a couple of days. In total it had millions of views. This of course was due to several factors including social media. In regards to other more popular and favored songs, their claim to success includes the use of the Radio. But in hindsight, more often than not, people have to claw their way in finding the song titles played. No longer will people have to struggle because of Apps like Shazam which allows you to find song titles by the App simply listening in! (Dan Kricke, 4/15/2012, n.d.), Websites that include  Charts of the latest hits like Apple’s iTune’s top 100 also allows easier access to titles,  (Apple, 2012, n.d.) as well as Youtube pages like VEVO (Vevo, 2012, n.d.) & etc.
